My name is Thomas Wikman. I am a software/robotics engineer with a background in physics. I am currently retired. I took early retirement. I am a dog lover, and especially a Leonberger lover, a home brewer, craft beer enthusiast, I’m learning French, and I am an avid reader. I live in Dallas, Texas, but I am originally from Sweden. I am married to Claudia, and we have three children. I have two blogs. The first feature the crazy adventures of our Leonberger Le Bronco von der Löwenhöhle as well as information on Leonbergers. The second blog, superfactful, feature information and facts I think are very interesting. With this blog I would like to create a list of facts that are accepted as true among the experts of the field and yet disputed amongst the public or highly surprising. These facts are special and in lieu of a better word I call them super-facts.

Thank you Kevin. I have been lucky lately. Since I have you on the line. I see the blog post summaries you mail out but I do not see the blog posts when you write them and I have never seen a reply alert to any of my comments. I think I am missing something but I don’t know what that is.
I implemented mailpoet and that sends one Emil with any post over the last 24 hours. Sunday sends all posts for the week. Since I do that it does not send an email by post. I wanted to keep it organized without sending to much mail.
Odd I see all your stuff and all your comments back and forth between both of our sites and comments. I will say wordpress can be strange at times. I’m always finding some oddity. Wen they upgraded to 7.0 I think it was a few weeks back it change some of my settings. Being an old change and release management manager that would make me a bit scratchy 🙂
I implemented mailpoet and that sends one Emil with any post over the last 24 hours. Sunday sends all posts for the week. Since I do that it does not send an email by post. I wanted to keep it organized without sending to much mail.
My wife will say she didn’t (or maybe she will say I had an “upstate” accent), but she had somewhat of a Long Island accent when we met. She has definitely lost it over the course of the last 30-odd years, though!
I think accents are difficult to lose for anyone, but I think a foreign accent is much harder to lose because the difference between the sounds and how you form them is greater.
No British accents tend to be beautiful, so don’t try to lose it. I should say that foreign accents, like mine, are more difficult to lose because the sounds and how you form them are so different.

Oh I did not realize that they did that. Maybe that is why I am having such a hard time uploading pictures. I need to look into this.
